Wedge Anchor Bolt 1/2" x 4" - Threaded
The 1/2" x 4" screw on this concrete barrier base for sign post is recommended for mounting surface mount metal plates to a concrete.
- Removable and re-usable one-piece concrete anchor screws have a finished hex head, an integral washer, dual-lead threads and a chambered tip.
- One-piece bolts eliminate the need to keep track of and assemble separate pieces of traditional molly bolts before installation.
- Dual-lead threads prevent the bolts from spinning in the holes when tightened.
- The 1/2" x 4" screw is recommended for mounting surface mount metal plates to concrete.
- Drill a pilot hole before installing the screw.
-
Installation Notes on the Challenge of Anchoring to Asphalt: Asphalt is gravel held together with oily pitch ("Bitumen"). Unlike concrete, asphalt will yield to forces applied for extended amount of time. For this reason, the common expansion anchors (which are used on concrete) can not be used for fastening to asphalt. Any expansion anchor installed in asphalt will loosen and fail within days.
